Amazon Echo buds at risk of overheating

Amazon Echo buds released its contender to the Apple Airpod, but they may be at risk of overheating and updates are urged.

It seems a lot of technology seems to be leaving the production line with fire risks following the Samsung debacle a few Samsung Note device, which burst into flames.

Amazon, however, are not having to recall the devices and are rather simply asking consumers update the buds before use.

Customers have been sent an email that explains the overheating only occurs in very rare cases and only when the Echo buds are in their case.

Amazon has said, “The safety of our customers is our top priority.”

The earbuds are still available on the Amazon website, despite being out of stock until August.

The update which they mention will automatically install when the device is connected to Bluetooth.

The email from Amazon read as follows, “We are writing to inform you about an important software update for your Echo Buds,”

“We recently determined that in very rare cases it is possible for Echo Buds to overheat while in the charging case.”
