Amazon has begun investigations into some PlayStation 5 consoles being delivered, but received as bags of rice of nothing at all.
Unsurprisingly with one of the most sought after consoles this century theft is going to happen, however the scale of theft is surprising.
There have been many social media posts of customers who have received anything but a PlayStation 5, from kitchen appliances to toys.
The allegations seem to be pointing firmly at the delivery staff used by Amazon, the investigation will look to uncover whether that is actually the case.
“We’re really sorry about that and are investigating exactly what’s happened,” Amazon has said.
Things being boxed incorrectly by Amazon is not unheard of, however with the number of consoles already available on sites such as Ebay at inflated costs does raise questions.
Many customers took Twitter by storm with their allegations and abuse, however Amazon claims to be doing all it can given the situation.
“We’re all about making our customers happy, and that hasn’t happened for a small proportion of these orders,” it said.
“We’re reaching out to every customer who’s had a problem and made us aware so we can put it right. Anyone who has had an issue with any order can contact our customer services team for help.”
What would you be saying if you had received a deep fat fryer instead of your new PlayStation 5?
