2015 the Apple Watch launched and caused quite a stir, since then wearable tech has really taken off, but you still can’t track your sleep on the watch on a native app, despite the fact you can on the iPhone…
When the Apple watch hit the market it was positioned as a health and fitness tracker, options for tracking sleep just weren’t factored in, its likely you installed a third party app to do this, until now! The App store released a listing for Apple’s Alarms app for Apple Watch, which references a yet to be released sleep app.
From the description shown in the screenshot we have deduced you will be able to set a bed and wake-up time. However, in addition to this it’s likely Apple wouldn’t just stop there and would add the functionality to track and monitor sleep patterns which will in turn allow the alarm to be cycled by you body clock and gently wake you from your slumber.
Apple actually purchased an app called Beddit in 2017, which sparked rumors at the time that it would be moving into the sleep tracking market earlier, however this remained a fantasy with Beddit continuing as a separate entity and even releasing apps since the acquisition.
