“The new BMW 1 Series has been redesigned to go beyond the journey and co-pilot your life. Boasting a 5-door design with a new sporty look and BMW TwinPower Turbo engines, it also comes with an enhanced digital eco-system that seamlessly merges your life into the driving experience. Add to this a boost in interior space, and you have a car that is open to amazing possibilities.”
A front wheel drive BMW not something all fans will be keen to hear, however following the superb success of the 2 Series in the tail end of 2016, we are not really suprised.
However, this will be the first 1 Series to feature front wheel drive, which will increase the interior space and reduce the weight.
We are yet to have an official launch date from BMW, but the company has confirmed by social media that it will be in showrooms by the end of 2019.
It has also been hinted toward that that the 1 will also be introduced with a hybrid engine.
Alongside the M135i will be using a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine in place of the old car’s 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine which will also be available in 4 wheel drive.
We do though think the styling is dead on trend and with the new grill it looks like a bit of a beast.
With that new aggressive front end it will be sure to turn some eyes at the headlights.
