Amazon Alexa will soon be able to offer health advice as a partnership between the NHS and Amazon has recently been conceived.
Last week the voice assisted tech started trawling the official NHS website when users are looking for health related advice.
The government has said this will hopefully reduce workload in their surgeries.
Many concerns about privacy and these smart home units have been raised over the past couple of years, however Amazon assure users their is not risk to their data or privacy.
The partnership allows the Amazon devices to provide answers to questions raised by the users, the answers are prepared using using the NHS website.
Embracing technology in this way, is hoped to reduce pressure on “our hard-working GPs and pharmacists”,.Health Secretary Matt Hancock.
“We want to empower every patient to take better control of their healthcare,”
Amazon have said that despite previous concerns, “All data was encrypted and kept confidential. Customers are in control of their voice history and can review or delete recordings.”
