General Motors has dropped out of a possible acquisition of Nikola, this comes following months of turmoil for the innovative EV startup.
Just two years ago you may have not heard of the name Nikola, however following recent press you will have been inundated with ups, downs and scandals.
General Motors have not only backed out of any financial deal, but also engineering collaboration with Nikola.
This means that the recently announced Nikola hydrogen cell Badger pickup truck may never see the road.
This all follows the massive scandal, revealed by Hindenburg research, that previous Nikola investment packs contained falsified video evidence of the hydrogen cells working.
The founder of Nikola Trevor Milton stepped down from the board on the 21st of September following release of the Hindenburg report.
However, the collaboration will remain on the fuel cell partnership, specifically the companies will, “work together to integrate GM’s Hydrotec fuel-cell technology into Nikola’s Class 7 and Class 8 zero-emission semi-trucks for the medium- and long-haul trucking sectors,”
