Microsoft replaced staff with AI

Microsoft has revealed that dozens of their current contract journalists will be replaced by AI on the MSN platform.

Curation of stories from external news networks is currently completed by in house journalists on the MSN website.

However, these are soon to be replaced by artificial intelligence systems, Microsoft has mentioned the reason for this is an evaluation of the business.

In a statement they went on to say, “Like all companies, we evaluate our business on a regular basis. This can result in increased investment in some places and, from time to time, redeployment in others. These decisions are not the result of the current pandemic.”

Microsoft like some other tech companies will pay third parties for the access to show their material on their site.

However, in order to decide which stories are worthy of being displayed journalists are hired to make the call.
