Ford gets fans all excited with an all-electric Mustang Mach-E being shown off in Los Angeles including an appearance by Idris Elba.
The premium of the range will have a range of up to 370 miles and fast charge capacity of 57 miles for just 10 minutes charge.
The bonnet or “hood”, doesn’t have a 500 horsepower gas guzzler, instead it offers more storage.
Despite not having a beefy gas guzzler the car will still hit under 5 seconds on it’s 0-60.
It will have a 15.5 inch touch screen display in the cabin, and with prices starting at £44,000 you would probably be expecting that.
Amanda Stretton, motoring editor at the price comparison website confused.com said “a lot of hopes” were riding on the vehicle.
“The interesting thing is that they’ve decided to use the Mustang name with this car, because of course it’s the name synonymous with American muscle cars, with big V8s… and yet they are taking the performance aspect of that name and putting it into this electric car,” she told BBC News.
“I really hope this is a game-changer.”
Stuart Rowley, president of Ford of Europe, said at the time the company’s future was “rooted in electrification”.
