The new Apple iPhone has been officially unveiled and it will be named the iPhone 13 and have the ability to record videos in “portrait mode”.
They have called it the cinematic mode and it, “anticipates when someone is about to enter the frame” then it will shift the focus to them.
Tim Cook also explained that it is the only smartphone that lets users edit this effect after shooting.
The majority of the changes and features are just updates of existing versions, so don’t expect the world to change with the iPhone 13.
However, this has all been unveiled at the annual Apple event, at the event the unveilings were slightly overshadowed by the new security flaw that can expose users’ messages.
Apple has released an update now to patch the flaw and from Monday they expect devices will no longer be at risk.
The phone also will feature the new A15 chip, that can operate a lot faster than existing devices, on top of that there will be a brighter screen, extended battery life, by up to 2 and a half hours.
The phone will be available in new colours including pink, blue, midnight, and red. The memory available will be at minimum 128GB and 500GB max.
Apple also announced the recycled parts that the phone is being made from, and although it is not 100% recycled they are doing quite a lot.
An issue for apple could be that phones are not selling as well as they used to, and users will keep their handsets for longer than ever before.
The iPhone 13 will also have 5G, something Apple were quite late to release compared to competitors in the market.
The Apple release will also include an iPhone 13 Mini, Pro and Pro Max, and as previously with the iPhone 12 the Pro and Pro Max will have 3 cameras, which Apple describe as, “its most advanced camera system yet”.
Those same Pro versions will include Super Retina XDR display and ProMotion – capable of delivering adaptive refresh rates of up to 120Hz.
Prices for the range will start at £679 for the iPhone 13 Mini, the iPhone 13 £779. The iPhone 13 Pro £949, and the Pro Max £1,049.
“What a spectacular set of announcements,” said Apple’s Tim Cook, relating to the companies announcements, but what do you think?
