New Xbox and PlayStation consoles will both be followed by lesser priced alternatives, with the Xbox version dubbed as the smallest Xbox ever.
We were already well aware that the next generation consoles will be on the market this year, the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X.
However, news of lesser priced models will be a song for sore eyes, as the release price for both flagship models is speculated to be around £450.
Although the launch of the flagships is earlier than the lesser cost models, this doesn’t mean there will be long to wait with Xbox announcing the 10th of November for the smaller Xbox Series S.
The lesser priced PlayStation is believed to be the same console, without the disk drive, however both are speculated to cost around £250.
There is some thoughts about how Xbox have reduced the size, relating to less powerful graphics, only digital downloadable games and less internal storage.
There is much belief within the gaming community that people will be begrudged spending close to £500 on a console, therefore the strategies from both manufacturers seem to have been similar.
The great thing about the diskless consoles for the manufacturers is the online stores, which theoretically should make up any shortfall in the console value.
