No HTC in the UK for now

Intellectual property dispute has caused HTC handsets to cease being sold on UK soil.

The online shops for these products are showing as out of stock, however it is not the same outside of the UK.

Research and development company Ipcom have maintained l long running dispute with HTC over a wireless technology, which has been developed for car phones.

HTC have since agreed to sell only the handsets with a workaround in the UK, something which Ipcom dispute, saying they had carried out tests that showed HTC had implemented no workaround.

The terms, “play by the rules” and “disregard for the law by contravening a UK court ruling”.were flung around by Ipcom.

Carphone Warehouse, O2 and EE have already stopped selling their phones.
