No more messaging if you don’t have Facebook

Facebook has now said that people will require an actual Facebook account in order to use the Facebook Messenger.

Back in 2015 Facebook declared that if you had a mobile phone number they would let you use Facebook Messenger, whether you had a Facebook account or not.

This was in the hope of attracting people to using the messaging service, even if they didn’t want Facebook.

However, they have now changed their mind and if you are to download the app now you will be asked to create a Facebook account.

“We found that the vast majority of people who use Messenger already log in through Facebook and we want to simplify the process,” the company has said.

“If you’re new to Messenger, you’ll notice that you need a Facebook account to chat with friends and close connections.”

However, if you already have Facebook Messenger this new change will not affect you, for now.
