Users of the Apple iPhone 5 have been warned, if they do not update their software before the weekend they could loose the internet.
Apple has said that any users who do not download iOS 10.3.4 by the 3rd of November could be locked out of features which they may well rely on, this is because anything that uses the time and date functionality could stop working properly.
Apps include the companies own; App Store, email, web browsing and the iCloud.
Although version 10.3.4 may not be the most up to date version, it is the most up to date available on certain models.
Older iPhone users should also be aware this warning does not only cover apps which use the time and date, but also the GPS location services.
If you are still using an iPhone 5 you may well have seen a pop-up in the past few days requesting you update to the latest iOS available.
This update can be done using Wi-Fi, however you will have to ensure you have the necessary battery life on the device. Alternatively you can plug into your PC and run the update from there.
If you do not update before the 3rd the wireless update will no longer be available, therefore you will need to plug into your PC.
iPhone 5 users have received pop-up messages in recent days urging them to update to the latest iOS.
This issue won’t just affect iPhone 5 users, if you have a first gen iPad mini, fourth gen iPad or older and iPhone 4S you should also update to ensure you continue to receive GPS location services.
