Samsung will be swapping out standard battery controllers for new solar powered controls for the new range of Neo QLED TVs.
The new remote design will never require you to hunt down the back of the sofa for batteries again or plug the remote in to charge.
Samsung state the change will stop millions of batteries going into landfill over the course of the life of the televisions.
In turn not having the batteries means that fewer will be needed and thus carbon emissions in producing the batteries will be reduced.
Each controller will last for 2 years and will be made of 28% recycled plastics.
This Is just one string of the new eco bow that Samsung has created for the 2021 year.
It will also be reducing ink used on packaging, but are these changes big enough for the new green world?
