Rumours of a new satellite calling ability in the Phone 13 are hitting the media and people are frantically trying to find out if its true.
It likely is true, however, it is very unlikely you will be able to just make any calls using the feature.
T sounds like Apple will be ensuring the feature is only enabled for emergence calls to 999.
It is also very unlikely the features will be ready for the launch of the handset so despite the hardware being available to software wont.
In a note to investors at the company Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst has claimed that the iPhone 13 will be capable of connecting to Low Earth Orbiting satellites.
Using a customised Qualcomm X60 baseband chip, they may be able to connect to the same satellites as used by Elon Musk’s Starlink.
