On Wednesday Sony announced that they will be releasing more PlayStation 5 consoles prior to Christmas, after the “biggest” launch ever.
We haven’t been made aware of the numbers by Sony, however for a launch console to have sold out after a couple of days, its going to be a high number.
Alongside this the Xbox consoles are also sold out meaning that if you were looking for a new console for Christmas you may be out of luck.
It could be the pandemic has caused the surge in demand for the consoles, however until we start to see some figures we would just be speculating.
The new consoles are much harder to manufacture than the previous consoles, with the magnitude of parts and liquid cooling on the PS5.
So if you would like a console before Christmas we would recommend adding yourself to a waiting list as soon as possible.
