Drone footage has appeared of the Tesla Cybertruck being tested on the track in California with a ridiculously oversized windscreen wiper.
New footage has appeared showing a Tesla Cybertruck on the track looking pretty cool, yet with windscreen wipers seemingly as long as the bonnet of a mid-sized saloon car.
The Cybertruck has a massive flat windscreen which looks pretty great in stock images shared by the company so far, but has seemingly overlooked the size the wiper will need to be to get rid of squashed bugs and water.
The original prototype did not have a working windscreen wiper when unveiled in 2019, but now we are getting closer to production obviously the design team has had to come up with a solution.
Musk has posted on Twitter saying, “The wiper is what troubles me most,” he then went on to explain there is, “No easy solution. Deployable wiper that stows in front trunk would be ideal, but complex.”
The Cybertruck is not scheduled to start shipping until 2022, but we are getting very close to that now so obviously they are having to test out ideas, one of the other ideas currently on the planning board, is an electromagnetic wiper.
By law the side view mirrors are also having to be delivered with the car, something that was also not on the original unveiled prototype.
