The Hummer is coming back, and this time it will be a 1,000 bhp truck with a 0-60 of just 3 seconds, but the big news is in the power source all-electric.
General Motors has confirmed the news earlier this year, with a release date of late 2021, we are expecting big things from this truck, and with the staggering uptake of EV’s in the US it seems like the right time for release.
The new Hummer will be sold under GMC, and the company have unveiled plans of a $2.2 billion investment into the electric trucks.
The hummer was originally retired in 2010, at the time the vehicle was seen as an excess, therefore sales plummeted. however with a new lease of life from an electric power plant, might this excite the same customer base.
The SUV and pickup truck market in the US has very high uptake and car manufacturers are able to use that to their advantage, including the Tesla Cybertruck.
Many other US manufacturers are turning their staple flagship vehicles and converting them to electric, such as the Ford Mustang-e, this is a trend we are seeing world wide with even London taxis converting their power units.
