TV sales around the globe have increased dramatically in the third quarter of 2020, this actually marks a historical high for TV sales internationally.
TrendForce has revealed that 62 million units shipped throughout the course of the past three months.
This is a huge 12.9% increase over the same third quarter of last year, and almost a 40% increase on the prior quarter.
Samsung has announced that they are expecting this to be reflected in their quarter’s profits, actually improving over last year and showing strong resilience given the current global pandemic.
More people are spending time at home given to the global restrictions on travel and socialising, this has been seen as the cause of the drastic increase.
However, it is also worth noting that a lot of shipments of new hardware were delayed during Q2 of this year, which has probably resulted in some of the increase.
