Virgin Media virtual 5G Network now live

Virgin Media virtual 5G Network is now live in the United Kingdom, over 100 towns and cities now have access to the network.

5G has been turned on already by many suppliers across the UK, however Virgin are offering the additional service free of charge to its customer.

If you currently have a 5G enabled device they say your contract will automatically receive the enhanced service at no additional cost for purchases since April 2020.

Virgin has opted to us the Vodafone masts in order to offer the service, maintaining their partnership for the foreseeable future.

There are currently over 3 million customers of the Virgin Media mobile customers in the United Kingdom.

Jeff Dodds, the Chief Operating Officer dubbed the announcement as a ”milestone moment”.

Virgin Media still has none of their own masts and therefore are considered a virtual mobile operator, as such they are the first in the UK to offer a 5G service.

He went on to say, ”our offering has long been about breaking boundaries and offering our customers a premium service without the price tag”.
