Worlds first 5G tablet and it’s a Samsung

The worlds first 5G enabled tablet has arrived and its a Samsung, the S6 5G is almost identical to the current S6 tablet, but with 5G.

There is a problem to start this story though, and that is the tablet may not even come to the UK, Samsung will be releasing in South Korea, but has given no timings for further rollout.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 was a pretty great unit anyway and as we know Samsung are really dropping the price on the tablets, so adding 5G can only improve that.

There will only be one version of the new 5G variant, with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage alongside a Snapdragon 855 chipset, all wrapped in a 10.5-inch OLED display.

The tablet will also have the S pen much like the Note 10 and finally a Snapdragon X50 5G modem.

The tablet came in at around £651 when released and while Samsung did well to beat Apple to the 5G mark, but the real question is whether this will really help them much.

After profits dropped 50% last year on year.

Also the fact that 5G is still very much a niche in the UK with only cities offering the enhanced coverage at present, so why would you need to spend out more on a tablet, when you are likely to be connected to Wifi.
