Mercedes-Benz has revealed the cost of the EQS and it will cost less than the top of the range ICE S-Class.
With a starting price of £99,995 its still not a particularly cheap form of transport and certainly costs more than a Tesla Model S at £73,990.
It is due to arrive in salesrooms later this year, and the features it will be packing certainly measure up to the 110% of the price S-Class.
There will be a range of 3 trims available on the car the Premium, Exclusive, and the Pinnacle each of these trims will have two versions depending on the size of the infotainment screen.
The 450 plus will come with a 12.8 inch portrait touch screen or the 580 4matic will come with a 56 inch hyper screen surrounding the dash.
Both versions of the trim will come with the Mercedes MBUX, which is a voice activated assistant, as standard.
Mercedes are interested in testing the market to understand whether customers are willing to pay more for additional features even after paying so much for the vehicle itself.
There will be various add ONS available like increase steering angle for the rear wheels which customers can then pay to unlock and will receive as an over the air software update.
This is similar to some of the features that Tesla is now offering through over the air software updates like the full self-drive version in the USA.
Mercedes plans to shift to a 100% electric vehicle catalogue by the year 2030, in order to get there they will need to ensure they win over their customers who are alliant on the ICE vehicles currently on offer.
