Russian now to use Huawei for 5G

MTS Russian telecoms firm has signed a deal with Huawei to develop 5G technology in Russia.

Huawei are setting out to develop next generation 5G network across Russia over the next 12 months.

The deal was agreed with China’s President Xi Jinping whilst he had a 3 day political trip to discuss panda’s, politics and trade.

This comes at a very tense time for Huawei, following a block in the US and their allies, due to percieved security risks.

The deal has come in at just the right moment for Huawei as they overcome the negative comments which have shrouded the press for the past couple of months.

Despite current suspicions from the US and Australia over Huawei’s connections to the Chinese govenment, the UK is proceeding with them for their own 5G network.

Currently not many phones support 5G but it is an exciting time for truely wireless internet.

So is America right to block Huawei, are they just giving the advantage to Russia. Let us know what you think.
