The new Sony Xperia Pro-I is hitting the shelves shortly and you will not be disappointed with the camera this handset is packing.
But what new smartphone will take the title for the best camera phone of 2021, Sony, Samsung, Google or Apple.
The phone may be coming to the market with 5G, but it is clear that Sony believe this to be secondary to the camera, as the I in the name stands for Imaging.
The phone will feature a 1-inch camera sensor, which is drastically larger from other lens available from the competition.
Sony has explained that the new camera is, “outstanding low light performance, high dynamic range, and beautiful bokeh”.
There are 20 megapixels in the sensor, which may seem low compared to the new Pixel Pro 6, offering over 40mp.
However, Sony has explained this does not effect the fantastic photography offered by the device, with three 12mp sensors in total on the main camera, ultrawide and telephoto.
Sony was eager to point out that the camera pixels are 2.4µm pixels, this means that each pixel actually is able to capture more detail, dynamic range and even greater depth.
The phone will also feature BIONZ X imaging processor, which can be found in the Sony A9 professional mirrorless cameras.
Allowing up to 20fps in burst shots, which is great for sporting activities and low light, the phone will also be capable of recording 4K in 120fps and retain all frames, unlike other phones which reduce the file size by removing frames.
To view the images 6.5-inch 21:9 3840×1644 OLED display, with 120Hz refresh rate and a 21:9 aspect ratio.
\Of course the device will offer 5G, come with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.
Astonishingly the device will also feature a 3.5mm jack, showing that Sony are crazed about the single port that most of it’s competitors have opted for now.
Although as you may expect the cost for having all that in a handset is a little eye watering, with the December launch announced at £1,599 price tag.
