BMW iX xDrive SUV due to go on sale later this year as the next possible Tesla Model X competitor in a similar price bracket.
The BMW was first announced last year however following much delay we shan’t see it in showrooms early next year.
This will be the first electric SUV released by the German vehicle manufacturer, and there’s a hefty price tag of $80,000, It will certainly have to fend off a lot of competition including the Tesla Model X, Jaguar I-Pace and Mercedes EQC.
BMW has said the IX xdrive will do 0 to 62 in just 4.6 seconds, and have a range of around 300 miles falling short of the Tesla by 60 miles.
For those of you longing from at BMW motor sport version don’t worry, BMW do plan to release and M60 model in the future with over 600bhp.
Although there has been a lot of negative feedback regarding the new BMW kidney grills, we will see them in action on both the i4 and the iX.
The grill also has self repairing technology allowing it to remove small scratches in itself within 24 hours at room temperature.
This isn’t the only futuristic element of the vehicle with a rear view camera embedded within the BMW logo the logo is also able to extend out of the rear of the vehicle to reveal a spray of washer fluid to avoid dirt obscuring the camera.
The iX will also be offered with an all glass panoramic sunroof containing electro-chromatic dimming.
Another astonishing feature is the radiant heating system allowing all vertical surfaces to warm up while the car is in use.
Fast charging at 200 kilowatts, 5G and digital key plus features, which allows owners to use their smart phones to start the vehicle, will all be making debuts on the iX.
