Elon Musk the founder of Tesla and SpaceX is now the richest man on earth, so he will definitely be the richest on Mars, maybe that’s why he is in such a rush to get there.
A rough couple of months last year for the tech mogul after having the news leaked that the Model 3 will no longer be trading, and a possible COVID-19 infection meant he missed the launch of his SpaceX rocket carrying 4 astronauts and baby Yoda.
However, things aren’t all bad for Musk, following the acceptance of Tesla onto a stock market index last year 17th November, rocketing his wealth up by £15 billion.
That means that he made about £128,000 a second, this all adds up to bring his net worth to $190 billion according to Bloomberg.
When news dropped on the stock exchange, it sent shares up 34% on a Tuesday in November last year the shares rocketed again this week hitting a market value of $700bn for the first time on Wednesday.
This allowed Musk to leap past fellow tech mogul Jeff Bezos and up to the richest man on earth.
This is no surprise following Tesla being named the worlds most valuable car manufacturer.
However, Musk has other things on his mind than just his wealth and has stated in the past that he is planning to sell all of his possessions as he is devoting himself to Earth and Mars.
“About half my money is intended to help problems on Earth, and half to help establish a self-sustaining city on Mars to ensure continuation of life (of all species) in case Earth gets hit by a meteor like the dinosaurs or WW3 happens and we destroy ourselves,”
