Huawei set to be replaced in the United Kingdom’s 5G networks by Nokia, the Finnish telecoms firm in huge deal with BT.
The telecoms company will be working with BT in the ongoing plan to provide 5G across the major towns and cities.
Nokia will be supplying the base stations and antennas to allow EE and BT customers access to the much speculated 5G network.
Unsurprisingly the existing Huawei parts in the national BT infrastructure will also be replaced and in the deal, Nokia will also make this happen.
BT and EE already use Nokia for the majority of their 3G service but not all of the 2 or 4G services.
It was actually announced earlier this year that no UK mobile providers were going to be permitted to use Huawei parts.
This is following the issues, which arose when the US started clashing with the Chinese company.
By 2027 all 5G Huawei equipment needs to have been removed from the United Kingdom infrastructure.
