Jaguar Land Rover is one of the latest manufacturers to unveil an electric shuttle concept for urban environments.
The driver stress reduction concept they are working on wont be needed as this is “autonomy ready”.
The ‘car’ appears to share some features with a shuttle and others from the original Total Recall.
“Project Vector” is the name behind the concept, which JLR hope to begin road testing of in 2021.
The specifications of the vehicle are very much a secret at present, however we are already aware they will be working with BMW on electric vehicles.
This version we do have a couple of nuggets of information for, the floor plan is four meters long, with a battery pack under the flat floor.
The range of the vehicle, however, is a closely guarded secret and JLR has refused to release that information.
It is a shuttle though so as you may expect the interior can be adjusted for shared or private use.
Unlike the General Motors solution to driveless cars, JLR have opted to maintain the drivers seat and controls.
The concept of driverless shuttles is becoming more and more common, and some are already in use around the world.
